Thank you!

Hey, this is my first post here (just joined yesterday). Been reading all the posts.. and this may be completely off topic, but I wanted to share how I came to video blog. I started this about a month ago and am so fascinated by it all. I watch more vlogs these days than TV! Anyway, I have been making movies of my kids with iMovie for quite sometime now. Usually, only family sees it, and that's if I can find the time to create, edit and put these videos on DVD or VHS cassette (which rarely happens). Awhile back, my dad brought me iMovie3 & iDVD: The Missing Manual, to read through so I could improve my filming and editing skills. I was reading the chapter about putting movies on the web and although it doesn't come right out and say you can post them on a blog, I decided to search online to see what my options were. I found Steve Garfield's video blog and enjoyed watching that, and then found others like momentshowing, and Josh Leo's. I just kind of watched these guys for awhile while I contemplated doing the same. After awhile, I decided to get set up and followed the step-by-step instructions on FreeVlog. I had my own vlog with a video on it within about an hour. A few days later, Jay Dedman helped me get set up correctly with ANT, and Michael Verdi... [View]

Help for the newb! [Tags]

I have recently been enjoying browsing through vlogs by tags on mefeedia. Maybe I overlooked something and this is probably a dumb question, but how do I put tags in my own vlog? Is it something in the html code, or something I put in when I make a new post? Maybe someone could point me to where this has been discussed before. Thanks! [View]

Re: iMovie Glitch/ Good Book for Final Cut Pro.

I've experienced this as well. Along the same lines, I have problems sometimes with transitions when using the original audio that accompanies the video (in instances where you're not using any other audio tracks). For example, my video about coffee roasting (http://nealey.blogspot.com/2005/05/good-day-to-roast.html). You can hear the sound fade out and in again as it transitions. I guess this makes sense that it does this, but have any of you found a way around it? --- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, Starfire <starfire@g...> wrote: > Hello Vloggers. > > Has anyone else had a problem in iMovie where a bit of staticy sound > comes up between clips? Maybe this is the same problem that Starfire originally mentioned. In any case, I extracted the audio BEFORE making the transition and that was something I hadn't tried before. I was looking around on freeplaymusic.com for the first time today. When I try and download the music files, most of them are in binary format. I'm not a tech-minded person... so I'm not sure what to do with these binary files. Maybe someone can shed some light on it for me. [View]

Question about videoconferences

Hey, I had a question about these video conferences you have now and then. I've watched a couple of archives and would love to get in on one sometime. I just wasn't sure if it was for certain people and I didn't want to butt in if it's not my place. I would love to meet some of you videobloggers that I watch daily. Not sure if I have much to contribute in the way of tech conversation, so I would be happy just to listen. - Erin nealep.blogspot.com [View]

So only one person in the conference needs to have ichat 3 in order for everyone else to display video? Hey.. I'd be open to something like that too. I have both ichat and skype (although not ichat 3 yet). Anyone, feel free to instant message me. My ID is my email address (schmee@...). I am on all the time, and if I'm busy.. I usually set myself to away and will get your message later. It would be cool to meet some of you. I played around and changed the link to my feed (via feedburner) except used pcast:// instead of http://. It said it needed to launch an application so I hit yes to launch whatever application it needed to, and it launched itunes (yay!). I also checked the box where it asked if it wanted to always use itunes for this type of request, so I hit yes. It immediately launched itunes and subscribed to my vlog. Maybe I'm giving you information you already know... but at least it works on my mac. Just tried it on my husband's PC though, and the 1-click link didn't work.
