Fwd: [videoblogging] imovie compression tutorial!

May 22, 2005 | Post #11835 | Topic #11835

This is great ... just what I've been looking for ... thanks ... Richard p.s. One thing is that you might note that this applies to anyone using quicktime for compressing files, whether you're using imovie or not. I've been saving files I create in premier elements as .avi and then doing the compression with quicktime pro 6 (since I use windows) >hey all >i made a tutorial for freevlog on how to compress out of imovie. >so if you ever get questions about what the best settings are >send them here: > >http://freevlog.org/wordpress/index.php/2005/05/22/tutorial-imovie-compression-settings/ > >i'm working on one for Final Cut Pro >and michael is making one for movie maker as well. > >no more compression woes! > > >-- >~Ryanne Hodson~ >Start a Free Videoblog...Right Now >freevlog.org >-------------- >-transcending traditional media- >http://ryanedit.blogspot.com > > > >Yahoo! Ryan, I wanted to thank you for this video. This reduced my most recent video about from 35 to 25MB. I had been simply using the high quality quicktime setting (6, since I use a PC) and the difference in the quality was much less than what I gained in the size. I know that there's been a bunch of discussion about the specific details of your tutorial and compression, but the main thing is that my file is significantly smaller and the quality is not significantly diminished. ... thanks ... Richard p.s. the movie that I'm referring to is the most recent post at http://www.richardshow.com (http://feeds.feedburner.com/richardshow) At 02:44 PM 5/22/2005, you wrote: >hey all >i made a tutorial for freevlog on how to compress out of imovie. >so if you ever get questions about what the best settings are >send them here: > >http://freevlog.org/wordpress/index.php/2005/05/22/tutorial-imovie-compression-settings/ > >i'm working on one for Final Cut Pro >and michael is making one for movie maker as well. > >no more compression woes! > > >-- >~Ryanne Hodson~ >Start a Free Videoblog...Right Now >freevlog.org >-------------- >-transcending traditional media- >http://ryanedit.blogspot.com > > > >Yahoo! Ian, First of all, I personally don't see anything wrong with you "advertising" your video blog - some of the most interesting videos I've found are those people have mentioned on this list (often the person who created it). Second of all, I would have to put in a word, for the list, that I really enjoy the05project - I find it really entertaining - I thought the rocketboom take off was a classic ... therefore, for those who haven't been to this vlog I highly recommend it. --=====================_4543903==.ALT Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed Josh, First of all, I don't think this is a "lame" thing to ask. You spend a lot of time on your videos (at least it definitely looks like it) and it's probably a hassle to change the name once, and you don't want to have to change it again. Second, I think Josh Leo's Vlog would be fine (or the other options below). The thing is that you make some of the best videos I've seen and that's what's going to draw people to it (in my view). The only other thing is, I suppose, to be consistent so people can keep track of what you're up to, so you probably don't want to change very often. ... keep up the good work and best of luck with the new name ...
