Thanks Matt!! Also sorry to everyone I haven't been responding much to the list (or your welcome (depending on how you look at it)). I sure have spent a lot of time though jumping up and down, head shaking, experiencing breaths of joy and epiphanies and pretty much the rest of the human emotional spectrum on what people have been saying around here. I have a BUNCH of thoughts I have been accumulating so pardon me in advance for several bursts throughout the day today; in catch-up mode. One of the greatest benefits of RSS technology with enclosures is that it= allows you d/l files automatically when they become available so that th= ey are local when you want to play them. Therefore, as content creators, i= t gives us the ability to create more beautiful looking files and for the= audience, it allows them to experience full screen video without any lat= ency. Especially if you are publishing to a cost-free server, like the A= rchive.org. For this reason we are putting into place RSS enclosure feeds = for people who DO subscribe in the background and prefer large file siz= es, for full screen high resolution viewing. With regards to a conversatio= n I was having with Kinberg yesterday (I used to say Josh, but now there = are so many Joshes <-no pun intended!). This is a push to integrate the T= V screen with the computer monitor. I've been watching videos full screen= lately. Here is the RSS feed we're trying out this week for .wmv 640 x 48= 0 files at a very high 2megabits/second (2000kbs) http://www.rocketboom.c= om/vlog/ win_media_player_daily_enclosures_640x480.xml If you dont use AN= T or your RSS reader doenst support enclosures, you have to fishout the f= ile or infer the file naming convention structure. Here is today's file i= n .wmv form, 45 megs for around 3.5minutes. It took me under two minutes = to download, not a lot of time... [View]

--Apple-Mail-1-613691938 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed The main problem with this sleezy site is that they are specialists in web search results, so they are competing with your site for search returns. I noticed the little bugger because they have managed to take command of video search results for our own site on yahoo video: http://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?ei=UTF-8&fr=sfp&p=rocketboom Yahoo video, which obviously sucks on this one, thinks that i638 is the source of our videos. i638 is infringing on our creative commons license for making money add revenue off our content. --Apple-Mail-2-617657312 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed Last week an article came out on Rocketboom in the AP and started spreading around as it got picked up by many other main stream media papers around the country. http://tinyurl.com/a7pzk I wanted to mention that even though it was like the most stellar article anyone could have written for us, the one fact that was wrong stated that I 'peddle advertisements' to pay for Rocketboom. As you know we have always wanted to make $ from Rocketboom somehow, and I'm feeling pretty good about the non-invasive advertising model that Rocketboom emulates as a prototype for how ads might work out okay in the context of this kind of thing, and other non-advertising potentials still exist for us, but as a matter of fact, we have still never received a single penny for anything related or even indirectly related to Rocketboom. I hope that changes soon, but right now, nary a dime. I would feel compelled to mention it here and on the videoblog, should that change. The other thing that was unfortunate about the article is that it mentioned the correspondents in passing without emphasizing the importance of it. To the writers credit, the article was already written for the most part before the correspondents ever appeared so it was nice that he at least found it important enough to go back and ad the mention. On that issue, since we... [View]

Thats one way of looking at it. And its certainly true, this group is biased towards Mac. The video and film industry has always been with mac though ever since the the moving image went mainstream digital. Another way of looking at it, just like we seen with firefox right now, for instance, is that these new videobloggers you wot of may very well help fuel Apple which is on the up and up. I also don't mean to play into platform wars. I'm always just seeking what personally works best for me. In the future your walls and your jet packs will be talking with a web of other digital configurations rendering this single dichomy irrlelvant. I've got two words and it's not plasics: Cell phones. Right now we are doing more on this end by meeting with people instead of thinking about process details. We would rather find one competent person/company with a major la-di-da progressive affiliation with advertisers already to handle these kinds of issues. Its a full time job trying to explain to advertisers a lot of whys and especially why nots. [View]

As a note, the number 0 in the code below where content="0;URL=" designates how many seconds to wait before engaging the forward. So if you replaced it with 9, for instance, it would continue to load and display any html you have below the head for 9 seconds. I noticed that they take one script and have several different people try= and act the same script in different languages.
