Hello all, My name is Raymond, and I am Norwegian. I was introduced to me- tv.com by Jay a few days ago, I checked it out yesterday, and I am.. You can read on my weblog about some of my thoughts on this. I look forward to reading some of these hundreds of posts (...) and getting to know what you people are up to regarding vlogging and contributing a bit myself perhaps. I have Not read through the posts yet, but I dare to give you a link anyway to my short flash demo introducing tv-me. It just basically shows you how to enter the site, register, and then watch your first feeeds. (or feed posts, whatever :)) The demo is here: http://www.student.uib.no/~st00679/metv/metv1.htm (i used Wink to create it, google for wink - it comes up first) I am happy to be here, and I hope to be able to explore this brave new world a lot during the next days, months and years. Happy Christmas! best regards, Raymond M. Kristiansen http://dltq.blogs.com [View]

I dont think wink supports sound input, but I will ask the developer over at debugmode about it. I have used wink a Lot lately, and I think it is great that these kinds of software is developed and being made freely available for others to use. Peter or anyone is free to use this short movie or make better ones themselves. I basically spent 10 minutes on it :/ > if you think the RSS feeds are cool. > check out the playlists is me-tv.... > even cooler. > I see Mica is pioneering this work. > http://www.me-tv.com/playlist/ > just use a "keyword" in your blog post and suddenly....your video is > attached to similar videos. I will check it out. Right now I am wondering how I Actually "use a keyword". Do I just write: "Keyword: Family"? Anyway, I will now go and make my first vlog Ryanne style where I look into the camera and just talk about whatever.. Darn this is scary. raymond http://dltq.blogs.com [View]

Random ramble of ideas

*this message is a bit long and tends to be a ramble, but it is what it is, just another of the 2500+ messages on this group* Hey, After having slept a few hours I am ready for a new day. When I awoke, just ten minutes ago, while I was still in this border-zone between dreaming and being awake, I had these random ideas. They were going through my mind like a scratchy old film becoming more and more crispy, clear and vivid. (The following is NOT an ad for my political party, but I will throw some of these ideas around, and would appreciate any comments) The last month I have basically been thinking about one thing: Election. I know this sounds stupid, but I have been brainstorming so much about .. what to do, how to do it, and how to get things organized. There are parliamentary elections here in Norway on September 12th 2005, and I have the following roles in my youth party (Norwegian Liberal Youth - within Norwegian political contexts we are firmly in the middle. Pro-environment, pro-development, and pro- capitalism, pro-market, but without the nostalgy for privatization as the Only solution in every context): * newly elected Editor of the Members Magazine of NLY * Board member of Bergen LY (Bergen is Norway's second largest city, and, as you will later SEE for yourself later, a very beautiful city) * Member of the... Hello Kath, Thank you for your comments! Yes, we are currently in the pr= ocess of testing out plone. The political vice-president of NLY, Audun R=F8= dningsby, is responsible for that tho. I cannot do Everything ;) But yeah,= I advocate Plone, and I have been asked a few weeks ago by the boards of H= ordaland and Bergen Venstre to give proposals to how they could improve the= ir homepages: http://www.venstre.no/hordaland http://www.venstre.no/bergen = (they are so bad I am near tears) I will suggest we use Plone. But we need= a server, and we need skilled people to help install and maintain it.. Sig= h :) Again, thanks for the tip. Raymond [View]

Adding keywords to playlists

By Raymond M. Kristiansen | "Raymond M. Kristiansen" <raymondmk@...> | admnory
December 26, 2004 | Post #2858 | Topic #2858

This is kind of vague so far, or, rather, perhaps I have not looked good enough for the information: How do I _actually_ add a keyword to my weblog so that it gets "caught" by me-tv and added to a certain playlist? _What_ do I write in order to make my self-introduction a part of the "Who are you?" playlist? Yes, I know I should write "hereiam", but what else? No code, nothing? Just "hereiam" anywhere in the weblog entry? Raymond - who upped a few vlog entries today. You can now actually see the street where I live. [View]

wink for making tutorials

By Raymond M. Kristiansen | "Raymond M. Kristiansen" <raymondmk@...> | admnory
December 28, 2004 | Post #2880 | Topic #2839

Glad you like it... It is actually quite easy to make - as soon as you know how to ;) I used Wink by debugmode to make it. Freeware, great product. I can make a wink-movie of how to use wink, in fact. In fact, I will make that demo now and put it online here: http://www.student.uib.no/~st00679/tutorials/wink1.htm I would wish more people used wink or similar software to actually Show how to do things, instead of only Describing. if you are a newbie to computers, or to a certain site, or a new software programme, being able to See, and to "copycat", rather than imagine how to make the transition from text to GUI, is great. Oh, by the way guys and gals, could you please just check whether you can See this movie?: http://www.student.uib.no/~st00679/vlog1/night.mov My girl-friend could not see it on her iMac, and well she is a huge chunk of my intended audience, soo :) Raymond - who will have some more fun with vlogs today. > > > > http://www.student.uib.no/~st00679/metv/metv1.htm > > this is awesome. > > -ryanne [View]

actually, I had to make it over two movies, because I could not have two instances of "wink" running at the same time... So first you watch: http://www.student.uib.no/~st00679/tutorials/wink1.htm and then http://www.student.uib.no/~st00679/tutorials/wink2.htm If you want to learn how to use wink to create demos and render and upload :) rmk [View]

Quicktime Pro, sound problems

By Raymond M. Kristiansen | "Raymond M. Kristiansen" <raymondmk@...> | admnory
December 28, 2004 | Post #2883 | Topic #2883

So, I shot some footage in my digital camera, uploaded it to my PC, and edited the video and sound tracks. Then I want to export it to QuickTime Movie. I tick the "audio", but when it is finished exporting, the end file has no sound in it. Whatsoever. There is not even any sound track for me to "enable". And when I just saved my .mov file (without exporting it), it seems like nobody else can see it. So, how come whenever I change my sound tracks, adding new ones, or so, and I then want to export the QuickTime movie, it ends up with no sound at all? When I do the same procedure, but with original footage, it works Fine. I am using QuickTime Pro (most recent version) for Windows. Raymond confused :) [View]

Remix This Competition!

By Raymond M. Kristiansen | "Raymond M. Kristiansen" <raymondmk@...> | admnory
December 28, 2004 | Post #2884 | Topic #2884

I just posted about my new competition, which is basically a remix this competition. The deadline is January 4th, so no reason to wait too long. I will be sending off a nice prize to the winner! You are all judges, meaning you all are encouraged to give feedback on the different submissions, but I will be unfair head judge and be the one deciding who wins and deserves the prize. As I stated in the playlists description, the concept is then that the winner chooses the next footage to remix and sends off a gift to the new winner. The post is here: http://dltq.blogs.com/dltq/2004/12/competition_rem.html This can be fun! What do you think? best regards, Raymond http://dltq.blogs.com [View]

Dylan has talent, that is for sure. But as Jay said, our real success comes not with her being displayed on national TV, but by her having fun, exploring the medium, learning how to edit, and seeing that she is Part of something. A creative process. Shannon is a Very important voice in this forum - we need some cynics ;) Personally I think it is Utterly Crucial to also show that this can have pragmatic Use for people. What Eric B. does with his site is good, but I am also thinking about taking this further, and really Showing how vlogging can be used - not only to talk about your christmas gift or your trip around town, but to come across with Messages. I am primarily a political animal I am afraid. But my politics go way beyond the regular schism of party politics. I want to engage people, and I want people to feel engaged. I don't want it to be ANTI-authoritarian, or ANTI-globalisation or anti-money, or whatever. I want it to be a symbol of the pluralism that we all account for, and as such I LOVE personal vlog entries. Vlogging is really getting quite the hype these days. I know most of us stay calm through this, but I want to stress again: The most important is that We have fun, that We explore this, and that we spread the word and let others have... [View]

QT pro -> how to make URL links within movie?

I saw someone do it, and I did my googles. This tutorial: http://www.stevenestrella.com/IWP/QTHREFtutorial/default.html looked trustworthy. i followed it, but argh seems like QT pro changed since when he wrote it. I cant find the "change track name" that is shown in step 10 so, anyone know a Good tutorial out there, or have made one themselves that they can link me to? :) id love to be able to finish off this dec 31 vlog asap so you all can see it hehe. Documenting is on the way! :) Myself, I will push for us using wink- created demos (wink: http://www.debugmode.com/wink/ ) which can be REALLY useful, either in pure flash, or as a complete set of our own videos. I dont say that wink-stuff should Replace all the rest (manuals, blabla), but it is a Visual approach, and after all, we are obsessed with visuals, eh? ;) By the way, I just uploaded a vlog entry. I will not make it fully public yet because it does not work like it should yet even though I followed the steps Andreas put on http://www.solitude.dk/archives/ 20041109-2223/ and it comes out like this after I exported the .mov to "QuickTime movie" http://www.student.uib.no/~st00679/vlog1/vlog0.mov Arrrgh. Why does everything have to be so complicated once you try to do more than the A4? ;) - from tomorrow I will start with real political "talk-shows" - but they will STILL be video logs. Informal, spontaneous, to the point, yet a bit messy, like life sometimes gets messy... Raymond [View]
