VBlog hosting?

Hi, Is there anybody out there doing specifically vblog hosting? High disk space, high bandwidth, low price stuff? If no, I guess the question is, should there be? What's the price point one should shoot for for lots of storage and (I'd say) 'best effort' delivery? Would you pay $10 a month? $30? $50? When thinking about it, I've spent several hundred dollars on stuff (camera, software, random junk), but I find myself not that inclined to pay lots for bandwidth and storage, even though I'd need to. Might an advertising model work for people - commercials at the start and every 5 minutes or so? Just some thoughts... -J [View]

Hi, Jason Funny you should mention that...that is something that I am researching right now. I'm heading to a conference in a few days, and hope to have some answers when I get back. But would love to know if anyone in the group could be the answers to the punch! :-) --DJ Dave = = = = = = = = --- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, "Jason R. At the moment I'm using: http://www.blogging.com/ The price is good I think though they are not specifically geared towards videoblogging only. There are a couple things I don't like but for the most part I'm pretty pleased. They are extremely responsive with help issues and if they don't have an answer they will find it elsewhere..... e.g. going so far as to contacting the Ecto people to get answers regarding compatibility and so on. I recommend them. Shannon On 10/18/04 7:53 AM, "Jason R. Pascucci" <jrpascucci@...> wrote: > > Hi, > > Is there anybody out there doing specifically vblog hosting? and of course I got to out a plug in for http://ourmedia.org. a beta-version is supposed to be ready sometime next month. this is a project connected to the Internet Archive. if it works, we'll get free storage and bandwdith to host our videos. the only think you got to do is share the work under Creative Commons License. the idea is to create a place where all the media we want is shared ny everyone. Brewster Kahle, who sponsors the project, has agreed to a six-month anything goes period. his concern is that people will just upload family vacations. but JD Lasica has convinced him that the community will build and create some good stuff.
