Our man in Denmnark, Andreas(solitude.dk), is building us a website for videoblogging. http://www.videoblogging.info this discussion group is perfect for what it is: a place to bring new info and challenges that need solutions. this new webiste is for new people who dont know what's about videoblogging. it'll have HOW-TO's, an FAQ, a place for articles/essays that we write up.. and links to videoblogs. we will place all the work from the discussion group on this site. IF YOU WANT TO BE INCLUDED on the videoblogging list, please email me. I need your web address and a brief description: "Andreas Haugstrup-- Andreas is a 22 year old university student from Denmark. He videoblogs about the small funny things in life, and of course his stuffed animals." WE will only use a thumbnail to link to your site. when people watch, it will be from your server. please let me know ASAP so we can get the site up. also, if you have suggestions for the site, let us know. Thumbnail of what? Me? A video? Who chooses the thumbnail? Where is it hosted? Who chooses what you link to? Check out this site: http://www.vidblogs.com/ It's good because they host a thumbnail image of a photo of you. Then, It's up to you to post links to your own videos. You can choose what video you want to link to and if that video has an image associated with it. Peter and Andreas. Jump in here if this info is not correct. we will do an RSS feed to your videos only. everytime you make a new video, it will update the window on the website. peter and andreas (i think) figured out a way to just grab updated videos. I like videblogs.com. however, videoblogging.info is more an extension of what we're doing in this discussion group. we're trying to educate people on videoblogging. the videoblogs are just examples of what they are. the purpose is to get other people videoblogging. so much of the site will be explaining how its done. if you want, you can just kick back and see how it unfolds and add your videoblog later. but Id really like those interested to write about their experience/process videoblogging. that's what is important if we want more voices out there. -- Jay Dedman Manhattan Neighborhood Network 537 West 59th NY NY 10019 212 757 2670 ext.312 http://www.mnn.org [View]

> Thumbnail of what? Me? A video? In my head it's a still frame of the video. Peter and I haven't found out how to do this in the easiest way yet. > Who chooses the thumbnail? You! > Where is it hosted? The thumbnail/still frame would be hosted on the videoblogging.info server for the sole reason that it might have to be resized. > Who chooses what you link to? You do. We'll just link to your blog entry. Just like: > http://www.vidblogs.com/ I don't particulary like this site because it's just a collection of videos, nothing else. What Jay, Peter and I would like to make is a place for people who would like to get involved but don't know how. Having a list of updated videos (like vidblogs.com) is an important part, but there needs to be way more stuff like articles, projects and links to further reading. :o) But to answer your question in short: The list of updated would be very similar to vidblogs.com - the only differences I see is that I'd like a still frame from the video and not a portrait. To get your video in the listing we'll either grab your RSS feed with regular intervals looking for video entries, or you'll send a trackback ping to our server. - Andreas -- Personal: <http://www.solitude.dk> File Thingie - PHP File Manager <http://www.solitude.dk/filethingie/> [View]
