I just used Ecto to post video to TypePad for the first time! Here's the link: http://stevegarfield.blogs.com/videoblog/2004/06/ecto_post_to_ty.html I had read that TypePad supported video hosting and was meaning to try it. Works nicely and creates a thumbnail image too. This is cool. --Steve On Jun 27, 2004, at 1:51 PM, Jay Dedman wrote: > Im with you. > we all kind of jumped in to videoblog week. it was a great jump. > i know my Typepad account gives me 3GB of bandwidth per month. > Ive had about 500 visitors this past week. > > But this is good. > The Tools, Process, and Presenatation are one set of challenges that > we all > seem to be overcoming, or at least working on. > > Now there's problem of disk space and bandwidth. > Peter and I(jump in here Peter..) want to rent our own server > specifically for > videoblogging. > if we get at least 5 people, it'll be cheap and we'll have crazy > amount of > storage and bandwidth. > Peter has the details... > > unfortuantely, i dont see any other way around it. > Ive glanced at Bit Torrent, peer-to-peer, but i dont think it'll work > for a > video I want to host on my blog. > Bit Torrent seems to be best for downloading high-quality movies, > videos, and > DAT files. > My friend uses it to get David Bowie concerts that were recorded live > with DAT. > they sound perfect. > but not what we're doing with streaming videos on our blogs. > > > > Quoting Steve Garfield <steve@...>: > >> Agreeing to the video blogging week was a big step for me. >> >> I've been putting my videos up for my weblog readership and friends. >> >> I realize that the videos are out there for the whole web audience to >> see, but I've never had any bandwidth issues. >> >> Joining up for the videoblogging week opened the door to discuss >> issues >> with video blogging. >> >> That's why we all did it.
