Thanks Michael. I've tried that= and then every time I move a clip it has to be rendered again. I guess I = could export the clips and then import them again, but I've decided to wre= stle with iMovie instead. There will be only a couple of L-edits, so it wil= l be faster than exporting and importing a couple of hours of clips. I go= t into this mess because I'm re-editing a film for a friend. She works for = a university here and they have an in-house video group. She's making a fi= lm about the traditional practices of growing corn here in Mexico. She eit= her got a bad batch of tapes or her camera is flukey. The inhouse video pe= ople just slapped it together, dropped frames and all. She asked me if I c= ould fix it. Well, I spent a whole day trying to import it. I tried every= thing and here's what I came up with: iMovie is less fussy about mporting= than FCP. I had to import into iMovie, use a gold plated cable and captur= e to a local drive. That way I got almost flawless footage. Varying any of= that and it was drop out city. So if you ever run into a lot of dropped f= rames you might try this Jack > On Oct 16, 2005, at 10:30 PM, Jack Nelson= wrote: > > > I know this has been covered before, but I've searched and c= annot > > find the answer.
