It does look pretty lame, but then again, think about how hard it was for Al Gore to seem relaxed and casual when he was running for president. That's pretty much what's going on here. They're trying to hire some talent, they know they need it. The real test will be when they hire the talent what kind of creative freedom will they give them. As someone who is turning 40 next month, I'll have to admit I find the "young" stuff somewhat annoying. Can we replace "young" with "interesting" or something else? Anyway, I wish them the best. I hope they do find some hip, interesting, young (and hopefully some not so young) talent and really do something close to what they're trying to hype. I don't know how many of you have seen http://channel9.msdn.com , but when I first went to the site they had some MS marketing manager talking about how he "sleeps with his tablet PC" or some such. It was really nauseating. Since then, I have seen a few interesting interviews with some of their technical folks. It's always amusing when us "old" folks try to be hip and young, but end up being laughable. I think both Shannon and Chris should submit videos (hold our nose at the giving them the rights thing.) Ream 'em, tell 'em they're candy-asses and their current videos are putrid. Shannon, you're too old to be a "young person", right? Tell 'em they're close-minded corporate drones for discriminating against you. Then see what happens... In the worst case you can vblog their response or lack thereof. -- Sean -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- M.
